Annual Fundraising Events

CARES hosts two annual fundraising events feature  Au-some Family Fun Day in May and the Au-some Golf Tournament in October.

Learn more about each of them and consider sponsoring the event to help us achieve our mission.

Au-some Family Fun Day

The 6th Annual Au-some Family Fun Day on May 4th is an incredible opportunity for all of us to come together and support the vital work of Community Autism Resources and Education Systems (CARES). This amazing organization empowers West Virginia’s autistic children and families through education, advocacy, and increasing access to evidence-based services.

This year’s event falls on Star Wars Day with the theme “Celebrate the Force Inside All of Us” – a perfect representation of the strength, perseverance, and unique gifts found in every child on the autism spectrum. The signature Sensory Walk will let paid participants experiencing an engaging multi-sensory stroll through Valley Park. This walk symbolizes our journey alongside our children, embracing their unique sensory experiences and celebrating their individuality. It’s a beautiful opportunity for us to come together as a community, raise awareness, and show our unwavering support for autism acceptance.

Following the .75 mile Sensory Walk, everyone is invited to the “Jedi Training Field” to enjoy family-friendly games, activities, and music. Food, drinks, and merchandise will be available for purchase.

AU-SOME Golf Tournament

CARES annual Au-Some Golf Tournament will be at Sleepy Hollow Golf Club in Hurricane on October 7, 2024. Stay tuned for more!
