How CARES Takes Action:

  • Our Advocate provides information and resources, emotional support, advocacy, and direct family coaching.
  • CARES holds monthly family outreach events that turn community spaces into sensory-friendly, judgment-free events for the whole family where our community can connect and learn from each other.
  • We provide workshops  and training for families and autism service providers by local and national experts and provide scholarships for caregivers to attend.
  • Increasing access to high quality, progressive Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy is part of our core mission.  We help support training opportunities for ABA providers, so that children and families have access to quality  services.

our impact in 2025

Families participated in sensory-friendly, inclusive, judgment-free family fun events throughout the year to help build a strong and connected community.

CARES supported parents, students with disabilities, and teachers to help assure students receive appropriate educational services in accordance to federal and state law.

Through inclusive family events, educational advocacy, or caregiver coaching, CARES supported families with autism across West Virginia.

CARES provided in-depth caregiver coaching in evidence-based behavior strategies.

With autism prevalence growing to      1 in 31 children, almost everyone has a friend or family member on the spectrum. Yet, desperately needed services are severely lacking.

We want to change that!
